Dr. Raghu Menon heads all government-funded development for the company and has been successful in securing more than $7M million of federal funding from such institutions as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Office of Naval Research (ONR) and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).With more than 15 years of experience in signal and image processing, Dr. Menon’s specific technical areas of expertise are computer vision, sensor fusion, speech processing and medical imaging.
Prior to RemoteReality, Dr. Menon was a research associate with the Calspan UB Research center and the Image Processing and Multimedia Lab affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, where his dissertation work was on sensor fusion. Before that, he was at Bell Laboratories in Murray Hill, N.J., where he worked on network optimization for telephony.
Dr. Menon has developed algorithms, written software and overseen projects for product development and contract research and has international experience selling computing solutions. While at Wipro Infotech, a division of $3.47-billion Wipro Limited that provides enterprise customers with high-value IT services and solutions in India, he was responsible for winning complex projects involving custom computing platforms for the Indian Central Government.
The author of a number of research publications, Dr. Menon received his Ph.D. and M.S. degree in electrical and computer engineering at SUNY Buffalo, and earned his B. Tech degree in electronics engineering from the Regional Engineering College in Calicut, India.
