Westborough, Mass., Feb. 26, 2007 – Robert Anderson, president of Groton-based Omniken, has joined the RemoteReality Board of Directors, effective Feb. 1, 2007.
Anderson, 66, whose firm specializes in advising leaders of technology companies on strategies to manage and grow their businesses, also sits on the Boards of closely held Lau Technologies, in Concord; family-owned Horn Packaging Corp., in Ayer; and publicly traded LeCroy Corp. (NASDAQ:LCRY), in Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.
“Robert Anderson has extensive industry experience, as well as a strong network of influential business leaders, which we believe will help us accelerate our plans for product development and expansion into commercial markets,” said RemoteReality CEO Dr. James Ionson. “As the first to come, literally, ‘on Board’ with an outside perspective, he will be able to offer invaluable insights and advice,” he said.
“At a time when physical security concerns are a top priority for both public and private-sector organizations,” added Anderson, “RemoteReality is well positioned to win large contracts in a fast-growing market. I am convinced that there is a compelling market need for the company’s technology.”
Anderson is a past director of the Technology Capital Network at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and served on the Executive Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge. He also is a past director for the National Association of Corporate Directors/New England, the Association for Corporate Growth and the American Electronics Association.
For five years (from 1988-1993), Anderson was president and CEO of Concord-based GenRad, Inc., an automatic test equipment company that was purchased by Boston-based Teradyne in 2001 for $260 million.
Anderson received an S.B. in electrical engineering from MIT and an S.B. in industrial management from MIT Sloan School of Management, both in 1963.
