Westborough, Mass., April 2, 2007 – Lockheed Martin Corporation [NYSE: LMT], the world’s largest defense contractor, has purchased and begun assessing intelligent-omni-video systems from privately held RemoteReality Corporation, announced Dr. James Ionson, company CEO.
“Lockheed Martin is currently evaluating our suite of OmniAlert360 and ThermalVision360 products for a number of applications calling for persistent situational awareness,” he said.
Details of the relationship were not disclosed.
The sale to Lockheed Martin is the latest contract secured by RemoteReality, said Dr. Ionson, who notes that the company has received some $6 million in Small Business Innovation Research grants and development contracts from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the United States Marine Corps and other Department of Defense groups.
“All of these groups are evaluating our systems, which deliver the unique and robust capabilities needed to successfully protect critical physical assets,” Ionson said, noting that the company also has recently signed a letter of agreement with North American Video, a premier security-systems integrator, to co-develop products for the gaming industry in North America.
